The company received the mail from the imposters of a Bengaluru-based pharma company

Cyber fraudsters siphoned off ₹2.1 crore from Dr Reddy’s Laboratories by hacking mail communications from the company and one of its vendors and diverted the amount to a fraudulent account. 

According to sources, the Hyderabad-based company received the mail from the imposters of a Bengaluru-based pharma company to whom Dr Reddy’s had to make the payment. After the payment, Dr Reddy’s learnt to have discovered the fraud and and also alerted its vendor. 

Dr Reddy’s is yet to officially confirm the fraud and share the details and is likely to issue a statement in due course.
